THE DISTRICT: Aurora

Quartiere Aurora - CESARE GIULIO Erasroom

The Aurora district is a historic, lively and multi-ethnic neighborhood affected by a huge redevelopment project that started with the new headquarters of the historic Lavazza coffee house. The new headquarters of the multinational Lavazza was designed by architect Cino Zucchi, it is called Nuvola and contains the beautiful Lavazza Museum, archaeological excavations dating back to the 4th-5th century AD and a starred restaurant.
Oriented towards contemporary art, the Aurora district hosts the MAUA, a widespread museum of street art, and the Ettore Fico Museum, which hosts temporary exhibitions, concerts and performances of various kinds. For interior design enthusiasts, the Casa Mollino Museum should not be missed, while for vintage connoisseurs is recommended a walk among the exhibitors of the Balôn, a historic market where you can do great deals or take beautiful photographs. The proximity to the Vanchiglia district, one of the poles of nightlife thanks to the clubs in Piazza Santa Giulia and the famous Fetta di Polenta, make Aurora a dynamic and full of life area. Shops, supermarkets and any type of service is available under the house.
The city centre and the Einaudi Campus are only 5 tram stops away and the Politecnico can be reached in about 25 minutes by public transport.
